Dear Friends and Colleagues,
on behalf of the EuroDSD consortium and the local organising committee, it is a great pleasure to welcome you to Lübeck for our 3rd International Symposium on Disorders of Sex Development from 20. - 22. May 2011.
The EuroDSD consortium was formed in concession to the previous “Lübeck Meetings on DSD” in 2004 and 2006 as an international collaboration intended to study the natural history and pathophysiology of DSD. Exciting results have been achieved which will be presented at this meetings. We are preparing a programme focussing on the impending changes in our appreciation of Disorders of Sex Development, from a biological, epidemiological, psychological, surgical and last but not least clinical point of view. The meeting will consist of plenary lectures, guided poster rounds and symposia focusing on relevant clinical implications, with internationally distinguished speakers presenting data and opinions. There will be ample time to present and discuss your own data.
There will be an interesting scientific programme for basic science and clinical researchers, practicing clinicians, fellows in training, medical students, or other professionals and people interested in the topic DSD. Furthermore, there will be a Round Table discussion with the intention to identify future scientific strategies for DSD research. It is our aim to categorize international research efforts for future common funding strategies within the EU frame work funding programmes (FP7).
We invite you to come to Lübeck. The venue will be again the University of Lübeck, a superb location for this meeting. Lübeck is an old merchant city of the Hanseatic League and we will have a social programme making this meeting memorable in a city of UNESCO world heritage.
We are looking forward to welcoming you.
With warmest regards,
Olaf Hiort Lutz Wünsch
